Alberta Update
- Jim Hooper (2013-02-07)
There were 6 teams entered in the 2013 Provincials this years at the Granite CC for the chance to go on to represent Alberta at Regina Sask. The Sherrard team won the A event against Trent Kowalzcuk's team and the Siwak team won the B over the Sherrard team. The A – B game was a terrifically played match with the Sherrard team coming out the victor and the 2013 Alberta representative.
The Executive of the Alberta TCTECA would like to congratulate the 2013 winning team consisting of
Dan Sherrard skip, Kevyn McGregor third, Matthew Webb second, Brad Spencer lead
It's on a sadder note this will be the 50th and final year of the TCTECA. I would like to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to all the people whom have made this event possible over the years. I became the President a few years back and Kevin Tym vice president to keep the Alberta TCTECA contingent alive as long as the National Championship could last. It was decided a few years ago that the birth place of the TCTECA, Regina would host the 50th and final event in 2013.
When Kevin and myself took the reins for Alberta it was not without guidance from former members and I would like to thank Bob Kishimoto,
Dave O'Donahue, Barry Sideroff for their guidance and support. Thanks Gentlemen and we couldn't have made it this far without you.
I would also like to THANK everyone else whom has had any affiliation with the Alberta and National TCTECA groups as without all the volunteers that do the back ground work, the TCTECA would have folded long ago and it has been their hard work and dedication to the event that has kept it running to make it to the final year. I also know that there are plenty of others that have done a spectacular job within the TCTECA and volunteering when Edmonton has held the Nationals and all the other Provinces. Thanks to them as well for a job well done.
Many great friendships have been made through the TCTECA curling both Provincially and Nationally and for that I am very grateful.
THANKS TO ALL |
