Kelowna Hosts the BC Playdowns

The BC Playdowns were played the weekend of November 16 - 18th.
While we were disappointed that we again only had 16 players registerd for the draft,
we were encouraged that four of them were new or had not been in the playdowns
for a number of years. Maybe next year will be the year we get everyone
out in the same year !!!

The Larry Parker Rink (Larry Parker, Dave Nichols, Ray Neratko, Al Izak) went
through our Provincial Playdown round robin undefeated and were the
eventual winners in a very close final game against the Gord Duplisse Rink
(Gord Duplisse, Marvin Manz, Don Simmons,Pete Strecheniuk).

Gord was 2 up coming home but Larry scored 4 for the win. Al was on last years
championship team and Dave has been on the winning BC team 3 of the last 4
years. His value in the draft has risen considerably!! Ray was a 1st time
participant and is looking forward to competing in Regina. Larry last skipped
the BC team in Saint John in 2004.

Brad Snyder has been recruited to be the 5th player to play in the games
that Larry will miss as he chairs the Delegate meetings.

Marilyn McRae and Skip Watson will be the delegates this year.
With Dave and Skip returning to Regina we hope to have a little of the "homefield"
advantage !!
