Manitoba’s Provincial team for 2010 TCTECA National Championships

On February 5th, 6th and 7th the MTSEPCA held their Provincial Championships at the Thistle Curling Club in Winnipeg. Eleven teams entered the event. The format was a double knockout with four teams qualifying for the Page Playoff and four teams playing for the consolation event.

The Warren Reimer and Kelly Williamson teams qualified through the A side and the Murray Woodward and Dave Beaudoin teams qualified through the B side.

Warren defeated Kelly in the 1 vs. 2 game in an extra end assuring Warren’s team a spot in the final while the Dave and Murray’s 3 vs 4 game came down to last rock with Dave’s team coming out on top.

In the 2 vs 3 game Dave defeated Kelly in an extra end, moving them to the final against Warren’s team.

Warren’s team were the victors once again going through undefeated with his supporting cast of Kevin Meadows at third, Nickie McKim at second and Mike Mainman at lead.
From the Reimer team, Warren and Mike are making their 6th appearance together at the nationals, and were on the winning team in 1993, 1996 and 2006. Kevin is making his 5th appearance, and was on the winning team in 1993 and 1996. Nickie is making her 2nd appearance and was also on the winning team of 2006. Kevin, Warren and Nickie have attended as delegates over the years with Kevin also serving as President of the TCTECA. All the team members have been active in organizing the nationals when held in Manitoba.
